Why ed cit?

Educated Citizenry--What a democractic republic is based upon. The voters must be diligent enough to become educated about the issues and candidates to make good voting decisions within the voting booth for democracy or a democratic republic to work.
Democracy: The electorate vote for the issues and candidates in an election. One person, one vote. Usually, a small number of electorate, perhaps enough to fill a church, would fit this defination. A single person reads, hears, discusses the issues, and meets the candidates, then makes a decision based upon his judgement.
Democratic Republic: Similar to democracy, however the voter votes for a representative to represent them in a legislature or executive setting. The voter inputs their feelings about issues, and the representative takes that data to make a decision within the legislative body or the executive position. Representatives and Executives are not necessarily bound to the opinions of the electorate.
